Dear Detroit Leadership Academy High School Families, 

I want to officially welcome each of you to the Cougar Family! We are very excited that your family has chosen our school to serve you and your child.

At DLA High School, our vision is to provide a highly challenging, stimulating, supportive, and safe environment that unlocks the potential of all children and adults as leaders, pioneering the way to equity and excellence. Our school motto is Activate Excellence; we won’t just talk the talk, but we will work hard to be the absolute best versions of ourselves. 

To support our mission to achieve this vision this school year, we are extremely excited to announce the addition, and continuation, of the following to our school community:

Social Emotional Learning program for all students

PSAT/SAT Course

In addition to the initiatives already mentioned, this year, we will enhance our commitment to our Take Care Community expectations by introducing our newly refined dress expectations. Furthermore, as a Child-Centered Organization, all CEN Schools will also implement a bell-to-bell policy, ensuring a phone-free and personal electronic device-free environment throughout the school day. These updates are designed to support our academic mission and promote student wellness by reducing distractions both in and out of the classroom.
